Living Amy Commissions

2016 marked the 75th anniversary of the death of Amy Johnson, Hull’s flying heroine.

The Amy Johnson Festival celebrated Amy's life, achievements and legacy with a two month programme of inspiring arts and engineering events that appealed to an audience all interests and ages.

With funding from the James Reckitt Library Trust, Hull Library Service worked with the Amy Johnson Festival to commission 12 artists to tell Amy’s story in a variety of new and exciting ways for the younger generation.

Under the title of ‘Living Amy’, writers, filmmakers, illustrators, animators and podcasters created a collection of creative narratives to retell her inspirational story.

All commissions can be seen on the Amy Johnson Festival website >>
