JRLT Audience Development Awards
17th January 2017
The James Reckitt Library Trust is delighted to announce the award of £200,000 to Hull Libraries to support an exciting range of ongoing and new projects designed to extend the reach of the library service.
The Audience Development Award helps fund a wide variety of activities that regularly take place across Hull’s 12 libraries, such as the Under 5’s literacy programme, IT skills, business support and development, reading groups and out of school activity programmes including the Summer Reading Challenge which will be Hull specific for this celebratory year.
This Award also provides opportunities for Hull Libraries to leverage additional external funding for collaborative endeavours such as Networked Narrative, a partnership project with FACT Liverpool that uses art and technology to inspire young people.
With the help of the Trust Hull Libraries can further expand its participation in local, regional and national initiatives that help widen the range and quality of the activities and events it delivers such as the ever popular Harry Potter Night, National Poetry Day and the exceptional Lyricull and Humber Mouth annual music and literature festivals.
By being creative and innovative in its approach to audience development and engagement Hull Libraries are continuing to see a significant impact on the uptake of library services and increased engagement in learning and literature activities.
See our Projects section for further information on the good work we help support at Hull Libraries.
