The James Reckitt Library Trust provides funding to support an exciting range of ongoing and new projects designed to extend the reach of the Hull Library Service.
The James Reckitt Library Trust provides funding to support an exciting range of ongoing and new projects designed to extend the reach of the Hull Library Service.
For 2018 a range of over 130 summer sessions and activities will be delivered citywide across all Hull Libraries for a variety of age groups and abilities.
These events include activities such as:
- Interactive storytelling
- Craft sessions, including some themed around The Hull fREADom Quest
- Circus skills workshops
- SLIME - a theatre production created for children aged 2 - 5 year old by Hull Libraries' associate theatre company The Herd.
- Circus themed dance sessions
- Music and Mayhem movement to music
- Drawing workshops
- Poetry & story writing workshops
- Grammar Rocks - a day of wordplay, poetry and painting
As well as hands-on workshops at the new and soon to be opened, Makerspace facililty in Hull Central Library.
These events offer a diverse range to interest all families and communities - the aim is to generate new interest for those who may have not accessed the library service before.

Some events are delivered in partnership with The Children Young People and Families Board who commissioned a programme of Summer Activities called ‘Healthy Holidays’.
